From Timid to Terrific: The Transformation of a Rescued Kitten Seeking Comfort

In the heart of Montreal, Canada, Mileña stumbled upon an orange kitten in need of help during her online adventures. Recognizing the urgency, she swiftly came to the rescue and ensured the safety of the timid 2-month-old feline.

The kitten, later named Angie, arrived in a pitiful state – skin and bones, extremely shy, with her head down, ears flattened, and avoiding any eye contact. Mileña wasted no time and took her to the vet, reaching out to the local rescue, Chatons Orphelins Montréal.

“We named the kitten Angie and took her into our care. She was covered in fleas and ear mites, and was underweight and dehydrated,” shared Chatons Orphelins Montréal with Love Meow.

Angie received fluids and assistance with eating, as she had no appetite. The rescue team mixed kitten milk with paté and fed her with a syringe. Gradually, the sweet kitten began to show signs of improvement as her body started to heal.

Once her condition stabilized, Mariann, a volunteer from the rescue, scooped her up and brought her to a foster home. Angie, still struggling with eating and gaining weight, found a devoted companion in her foster mom, who trailed her around the house, ensuring she never missed a meal.

Diagnosed with anemia and a bacterial infection, Angie embarked on a healing journey with antibiotics and plenty of love. After each meal, she cozied up with her foster mom in a purrito, purring herself to sleep.

“She is finally able to eat on her own and is active and feels a lot better. She wouldn’t have survived if her health issues hadn’t been detected in time,” revealed the rescue.

Once Angie experienced the warmth of affection, she couldn’t get enough of it. “Now, she asks for hugs and attention all the time.”

No longer the timid little kitty encountered at the vet, Angie has blossomed into a vocal, affectionate girl unafraid to seek cuddles. She plays like other kittens her age, thanks to the excellent care provided by her foster mom.

In just a few weeks, the once-shy kitten has made a complete 180-degree turn, transforming into a little lovebug.
